Except there was no escape and there were more colors than just yellow. Of course, at the time I was just 8. Definitely appreciate the hard work of this artist. Punching through those plaster walls and working as quickly as she does seems harrowing. Reminiscent of the Kill Bill scene?

Didn’t think it offered up the band in the brightest light or really explore their music too deeply, just their songwriting process (a bit). My guess is the author has never seen them live. Was nice to see they gave a shout out to Peter Katis, I have heard alot of good things about him from a friend. Also, interesting to see that they had moved to manhattan same time as I did. This piece really paled in comparison to an Arcade Fire sunday magazine piece that was published a few years ago.

Another friend just directed me to check out Marionette, who, I learned, The National played with the other night. I am listening to the album on their site right now and can say that I am really enjoying it.

I have tickets for The National at Radio City and at Electric Factory and am definitely going to have to see who is opening for them.

The show was beyond amazing. The Album is streaming here legally*.

Also, got to see The Hold Steady in Williamsburg. Their new album is streaming on NPR.

The National indicate that the NYT is going to be streaming High Violet on April 23 at “its intended level of quality”. Awesome.
